| Born in a traditional Chinese family in Taiwan, i came to Canada in '97. This dual cultural journey has broadened my vision, enriched my life, and helped me to grow. i feel privileged that my practice in art has allowed me to express my living and working experiences in both Canada and Taiwan, whether i am happy, sad, joyful, frustrated, numbed or overwhelmed. One of the techniques i often like to apply in my prints is 'chine collé'. It is a paper lamination process, which permanently layers two sheets of paper with a printed image on top. Both sheets are clearly visible, yet they have ceased to be separate elements. The print has unified them in a single work of art. Like myself, my features are Asian, my thinking is based on Asian philosophy, and my diet consists of Asian food. However, i speak English, i read in English, and i even dream in English. My ceramic pieces do not serve the purpose as functional utilitarian pottery. Instead, the organic feel of my works invites you to travel inward with me: |

as i lay my hands onto clay, i become invisible. the rhythm of clay leads me to stretch, to compress, to unfold, to enclose, and to sparkle. Clay dances with me. |
| Through prints and clay, i ride a train of thoughts in a land that is still foreign to me. |
